502nd Infantry Brigade Participates Brigada Eskwela 2013

In line with the President’s Security Agenda, AFP issued the Internal Peace and Security Plan (IPSP) “BAYANIHAN” which focus on enhancing the well-being of the people.  IPSP “BAYANIHAN” calls for “Whole of Nation” approach to protect our peoples’ rights and liberty.  Instead of defeating the enemy, it focuses in “Winning the Peace”.

The Department of Education has directed all public school institutions to conduct simultaneous clean up drive in their respective schools with the theme: “Brigada Eskwela 2013”. The activity is being conducted from 20-24 May 2013 in preparation for the start of school year 2013-2014.

COL INOCENCIO M MAYANGAO INF (GSC) PA the Brigade Commander to include  OPCON units participated in the conduct of Brigada Eskwela 2013, a nationwide activity participated by different concerned agencies, DepEd, AFP, PNP and BFP in preparation for the opening of school classes CY 2013.

As a result of the various activities of Brigada Eskwela 2013, the unit conducted simultaneous cleanliness drive in Dubinan Elementary School in Santiago City and in Soyung Elementary School in Echague, Isabela last 13 May 2013 . The unit also painted the chairs, tables and walls of San Andres Elementary School and Santiago East Central School, all of Santiago City with hundred of students and teachers as beneficiaries.

The successful conduct of BRIGADA ESKWELA in different schools is a manifestation of true “Bayanihan” that shows the commitment of our troops and  stakeholders to serve the people and build a strong partnership for community development. The participation of 502nd Brigade yielded positive results wherein it promoted the image of the army as partners for development.

“This endeavor being aimed-out by the soldiers had greatly contributed to the general improvement of our school specially during the opening of the school year,” Mrs Cheryl Reymundo Ramiro, Principal II of Dubinan Elementary School, emphasized.
