5ID PRESS CORPS CONDUCTS REORGANIZATION, ELECT NEW SET OF OFFICERS

         CAMP MELCHOR F DELA CRUZ, Upi, Gamu, Isabela – The members of the 5th Infantry Division Press Corps conducted their reorganization and subsequently elected their new set of Officers for CY 2017-2019 at the Division Public Affairs Office, CMFDC, Gamu, Isabela on December 12, 2017.

        The reorganization was highlighted with the acceptance of new members who signified their intention to join the 5ID Press Corps. An election for a new set of Officers was held, to replace the current set of Officers who had been performing their duties for more than two years already.

        As a result of the election, the following are the new set of Officers: President – Mr. Wilfredo Berganio; Vice President for Broadcast – Mr. Conrad Delos Reyes; Vice President for Print – Mr. Jose Dasig; Secretary – Ms. Luvimyn Mae Barangan; Treasurer – Mr. Victor Martin; and Auditor – Mr. John Soriano.

        The new set of Officers of the 5ID Press Corps took their oath led by BGen Roy T Devesa, Assistant Division Commander, 5ID. The Oathtaking was the highlight of the Press Corps Christmas Party, which was held at the 5ID Officers’ Clubhouse.

        During the speech of BGen Devesa, the keynote speaker, he congratulated the Officers and the members of the 5ID Press Corps saying, “My best compliment to the members and the new set of Officers of the 5ID Press Corps. We expect that with your leadership, we will strengthen the bond between the press and the Star Troopers. As we strengthen our partnership, we are both serving the best interest of our people.”

        The previous Officers of the 5ID Press Corps were given Certificates of Recognition, citing their contributions to the accomplishment of the Command’s Mission during their term. The 5ID Press Corps Christmas Party culminated at around 4 o’clock in the afternoon of the same day.
