Php 14.5M worth of marijuana destroyed in Kalinga


    CAMP MELCHOR F DELA CRUZ, Gamu, Isabela – Three plantations of fully grown marijuana trees with an estimated value of 6.1 Million pesos were destroyed by the combined elements of the 50th Infantry Battalion, 5th Infantry Division; Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-RO2 and CAR; Kalinga Police Provincial Office; and Tinglayan MPS at Mt Chumanchil, Brgy Loccong, Tinglayan, Kalinga on Febraury 11, 2018 (Sunday).

    The plantation in three sites has a combined estimated land area of 5,200 square meters and located around 11 Kilometers air-distance from the center of Tinglayan Town.

    The raiding team burned the uprooted fully grown marijuana in the same area.

    BGen Perfecto M Rimando Jr, AFP, Commander, 5ID commended the raiding team for the successful operations. He assures the full support of the Star Troopers in all law enforcement operations to be initiated by other Law enforcement Agencies  (LEA) within the 5ID area of operation. “Protecting the people from the influence of illegal drugs is everybody’s responsibility. We will continue to work with the other LEA until the dream of our President to have a drug-free community is achieved, and this means clearing the whole of Cordillera and Cagayan Valley Regions from drugs.” BGen Rimando Jr said.
