5ID enlists 251 new soldiers


                    CAMP MELCHOR F DELA CRUZ, Gamu, Isabela – The 5th Infantry (Star) Division enlisted 251 Candidate Soldiers into regular force after the graduation rites of Candidate Soldier Course (CSC) Classes 546 & 547-2018 at 5ID Training School, Camp Melchor F Dela Cruz, Upi, Gamu Isabela on November 18, 2018.

                    The members of the two graduating Classes had undergone five months rigid training to test their physical and mental ability, and to transform them from a carefree civilian to fine grown military men. There were six Board Passers of the CSC Class 546-2018 while CSC Class 547-2018 had five, who are all Criminology graduates.

                    CS Rocky James R Castillejo, 24 y/o, a licensed Mechanical Engineer from Magaogao, Pinukpuk, Kalinga bested the remaining 125 members of the CSC Class 546-2018, by garnering a total average of 94.07% both from academic and non-academic requirements of their course. While CS Halford O Milo, an undergraduate of Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering topped the CSC Class 547-2018, with a general average score of 94.36% from all the requirements of the course.

                    The other graduates who made it to the top of their respective classes were; CS Junie B Dumayag (91.94%) of Brgy Gobgob, Tabuk City and CS Jay Paul O Dela Rosa (91.63%) of Brgy Guibang, Gamu, Isabela as top 2 and 3 respectively of CSC Class 546-2018. On the other hand, CS Jaymor A Diondo (94.07%) of Brgy Sta. Margarita, Baggao, Cagayan and CS Johnder James S Guzman (94.02%) of Brgy District 2 , Gamu, Isabela landed at second and third respectively of CSC Class 547-2018.

                    On the other hand, CS Isagany S Torres and CS Romar D Buyagawon were recipients of Physical Proficiency Awards in their respective classes. The Physical Proficiency award is given to CS who obtained the highest grades in non-academic requirements of their course.

                    During the Graduation Ceremony, the Keynote Speaker, Major General Perfecto M Rimando Jr., Commander, 5ID commended the graduating members of the two CSC classes as well as their parents. “Today, marks a very significant milestone on your journey as soldiers of the Filipino people. We are expecting you to carry the discipline that you acquired during your training.” MGen Rimando Jr., said.

                “Make your presence felt in every area where you were be deployed, be a friend to every people in the community but be the CPP-NPA worsts enemy. Explore your talent in every way you can and never settle in just a mere rifleman, but be the best information collector at the same time, a civil-military operations operator.” MGen Rimando Jr added.
